The last primary rainforest · UNESCO World Heritage
Sinharaja
Mixed-species bird flocks, purple-faced langurs, and a canopy that has never been logged.
Sinharaja is the largest surviving stretch of primary rainforest in Sri Lanka and a UNESCO site. More than half of the country's endemic birds, mammals and butterflies live here. You walk it on foot with a naturalist, and the famous mixed feeding flocks can hold 40 species moving through the canopy together.
